NDC Series 710e Gauges are designed to make a non-contacting
measurement with the product. Ideally they are installed over a
moving transport conveyor at a point in the line where the moisture
is representative for control.
In some locations, however, products are transported in
pneumatic or garvity-fed ducts and in order to gain access to the
product to make a measurement, NDC has developed the PowderVision
Sampling Systems.
Available in two configurations, Standard and Heavy Duty,
PowderVision samplers catch the falling product in a sampling cup,
measure it, through a sapphire window, and then eject it. In the
case of the Standard unit, ejection is by a jet of compressed air;
the Heavy Duty Unit uses a pneumatically actuated sample cup which
opens and closes.
The frequency of the measurement cycle is adjusted depending on
the rate of product flow.
