NDC Infrared Engineering offers a range of solutions for
Calendering in the Rubber Industry. Our full range of sensors
enables sheet measurements on:
- Gum (innerliner) Calenders
- Textile (fabric) Calenders
- Wire (steel cord, metallic) Calenders
For on-calender measurements, an X-ray backscatter (XRB) or a
laser sensor can be mounted in a scanning configuration for fast
and repeatable measurement. The GBS gamma backscatter sensor
has a small footprint and can be mounted in a fixed point
configuration. Also available in fixed-point mode are contact
eddy-current sensors to directly measure thickness.
For post-calender scanning profile measurements, NDC
recommends beta sensors for total weight, laser sensors for
thickness, and XRB and X-ray transmission (XRT) sensors for wire
calender measurements.
Calender systems are available with effective controls,
including: 3-zone control (dual or single gap, cross-axis or roll
bending); Automatic target optimization (ATO); Windup weight
control; and Delta presets.
Along with the advanced features of TDi (Total Distributed
Intelligence) this comprehensive range of sensors, scanners,
measurements, controls and platforms allows NDC to offer complete
capabilities in the measurement and control of calendered processes
to bring products into specification faster.
