The 8000 TDi system is based on NDC’s TDi (Total Distributed
Intelligence) Architecture – a design fundamentally different than
other gauging systems, providing the lowest total cost of ownership
in the gauging industry.
What makes 8000 TDi different is that every critical device in
the system is intelligent – the operator workstation, the scanning
frame(s) and the product measurement sensor(s). These intelligent
frames (iFrames) and intelligent sensors (iSensors) are designed to
work in tandem, breaking down complex gauging tasks to their
simplest components. This distribution of intelligence simplifies
the entire gauging system experience:
- Installation is simple – only Ethernet and Power required
- System Expansion is simplified as computer software does not
have to be rewritten
- System troubleshooting is easier because each iFrame and
iSensor has a unique GUI (Graphical User Interface) which
dramatically improves component visibility
- The Operator workstation is “soft” – it can be installed on any
device that supports a Java run-time environment
- NDC can supply “virus-resistant” hardware, or you can supply
your own PC - just connect it to the system Ethernet.
