There is an ever increasing reliance of our day-to-day existence
on rechargeable battery powered devices. Manufacturers of lithium
and polymer batteries require control of the coating process in
order to maintain battery performance specifications.
Gamma Backscatter and Beta Transmission Sensors from NDC
Infrared Engineering are used to measure the coating and provide
outputs for automated control. NDC Beta Sensors combine measurement
with a pattern recognition algorithm enabling cross-web location of
uncoated areas as well as the coating measurement.
